I put the blame mostly on the culture war nonsense because a lot of memes these days is mostly related to politics shit that say the same damn jokes again and again and again (it's not just cringe you see from the Left, even the Right is starting to lose its touch). It's like the 'I Sexually Identify as an Attack Helicopter' copypasta you used to see being spammed everywhere back in the day which was funny the first few times but even that got old and annoying.

Hopefully when by the time that this decade ends, memes move away from politics and moves on to something more original.
