Not true, there were plenty of people of name on Twitter defending KF during DKF. Glenn Greenwald was defending KF, Katie Herzog and Jessie Singal from the Blocked and Reported podcast did two episodes defending KF, transgender lawyer Corinna Cohn from the Heterodorx podcast wrote a substack blog defending KF... plenty of regular Twitter users were also defending KF during the campaign.

... wait a minute, this sounds kinda familiar... it reminds me of a thread I read at the time of DKF, where someone argued something very similar to this. Let me dig it up...

I remember Null hated Betonhaus because he was one of the few people in the Technical Grievances thread who was willing to confront Null about his bullshit excuses as to why the forum was so broken all the time.

For example, here's Betonhaus in TG asking once again if the chat can be opt-in:

Could we possibly make the chat that's on most pages opt-in? I imagine that the continuous socket connections on many users that aren't even looking at the chat is causing unnecessary overhead.

Null being a dick towards the users again, Betonhaus calls him out for the way he almost always responds to users in TG with "yes, I know. Shut up."

To be fair, most of the time complains about the site being down gets the response of "yes, I know. Shut up." So further elaboration is unneeded.
That being said, the pl site doesn't work at all over my cable internet, but if I turn off wifi and use my cellphone internet it works fine. I'm guessing it's related to the hurricane internet block?
