I personally don't have any issues with ban evading because in the end it's just the internet and not meant to be taken seriously plus accounts are just a tool to use and make more of when you need them. It's just if he does it he has no room to complain when others do it on his site. Two of the old rules of the internet are there are no real rules to posting. Meaning despite what the rules may say people will stil do it regardless of how you feel. And the next one is there are no real rules to moderation either, enjoy your ban. The way i see it if bad jannies abuse their power breaking some rules and causing trouble isn't out of the question.
That's one way of looking at it. Another way of looking at it is this: moderation is essentially a power-trip. No matter how necessary you think it is, it's about controlling people and controlling an environment, even if it is a virtual environment, as with an online web forum. It's an act of very literal cybernetics. When someone bans someone, it's an act of power they have over the other person by denying them access to a podium, of a social group, or a source of information, etc. By trying to revert that act (through ban-evasion), you are reinforcing the power-trip of the moderator. You are convincing him that his power-trip is just and necessary. I think it's better to not feed into that power-trip. I think it's better to leave the moderator alone to marinate in their power-trip until there's no one left to control and lord over. Let them shrink their world into a dot if they want. You don't need to make yourself small to fit into their ever decreasing dot. It's a world wide web out there, there's always somewhere else you are welcome, so go there. I hope this explains my position to you.

Yeah, that's understandable. My situation is a bit different than most people. I can fit in because I have older accounts i won't reveal for obvious reasons. I don't even try to, but i just happen to by lurking moar posting less while barely reacting and being generally agreeable because it's not really hard. As for the sock accounts I troll with i make sure jannies know I won't put up with their bs which instantly puts me on their shit list. I am not afraid to disagree and ridicule them while letting them know i have more. From my perspective it takes away the one power they think they have; controlling who uses the site. Making alts to evade bans upsets them a lot because they feel they are losing in their power trip in the one area they thought they could control.
