There was a post Josh made a long time ago where he said that users are cycled in and out on the regular. This is par for the course and it is one of the most glaring problems the website has had to deal with ever since its inception.

I don't think he wants it to be "legitimate" in the vein of Reddit or Instagram, he wants it to be like how 4chan was seen in the Gamergate years. A place where you can say and do anything without oppressive mods/vigilante group that keeps not just the internet, but the world, honest.

Politics just seeped its way into everything and everyone around the mid-to-late 2010s. There was really no way Josh could baton down the hatches and not allow the Kiwi Farms to be affected by what was happening with the rest of the world.
