South African singer Liema Pantsi has emerged as the winner of Big Brother Mzansi 2026, following a season filled with twists, setbacks, and a remarkable comeback story.

The 24-year-old, who hails from Qonce (formerly King William’s Town) in the Eastern Cape, secured the win during the finale of the Bazozwa season, beating runner-up Thandeka Tshabalala through fan votes.

Her victory has been widely described as one of the most dramatic in the show’s history, largely due to the unusual path she took to the top.

From Early Exit to Second Chance

Liema’s journey with Big Brother Mzansi dates back to 2024, when she participated in the S’yamosha season. At the time, she made headlines after choosing to leave the competition early with R250,000 instead of continuing to compete for the R2 million grand prize.

The decision came during a high-stakes “Fate Room” twist, where housemates were required to make immediate choices. Liema later explained that she misunderstood the rules, believing she was initiating a process rather than finalizing her exit.

While the move drew mixed reactions from fans, she maintained that she had no regrets and went on to invest the money into her music career and skincare business.

Eviction and Return

Her 2026 return to the Bazozwa season brought another major setback when she was unexpectedly evicted mid-season. At the time, many viewers considered her a strong contender, making her exit a surprise.

However, the show introduced a twist that allowed fans to vote for an evicted housemate to return to the competition. Liema was voted back into the house, giving her a second chance.

That turning point proved crucial. After her return, she adjusted her strategy, strengthened her alliances, and became more intentional in her gameplay, maintaining a strong connection with viewers.

A Full-Circle Victory

Liema Pantsi’s eventual win marks a full-circle moment—from an early voluntary exit and a mid-season eviction to ultimately claiming the top prize.

Her story has resonated with fans, highlighting themes of resilience, growth, and the impact of public support in reality television.

With her victory, Liema not only secures her place among the show’s winners but also strengthens her platform as an emerging artist with a growing fan base.
