Nigerian singer Zinoleesky has officially parted ways with Marlian Music, marking the end of a significant chapter in his career and the beginning of a new phase as an independent artist.
The move comes after nearly six years with the label, which is owned by Naira Marley. Zinoleesky has now launched his own record label, Zinodict Music, signaling a shift toward full creative and business independence.
To mark the transition, the singer is set to release his debut single under the new label titled Nostalgia, scheduled to drop at midnight on April 24, 2026. The track will serve as his first official release as an independent act.
Zinoleesky joined Marlian Music in 2020 and quickly rose to prominence with his debut EP Chrome Eccentric. He continued to build momentum with projects such as Grit and Lust in 2022, which featured collaborations with artists like Omah Lay and Ayra Starr. His debut studio album Gen Z, released in 2025, further cemented his position as one of the label’s leading acts.
Speculation about his departure had circulated in recent months. Late last year, rumors of a split surfaced after a social media post sparked discussion among fans. At the time, Zinoleesky dismissed the claims, stating his continued loyalty to the label. However, his recent announcement confirms that he has now moved on.
In a statement addressing his decision, the singer emphasized that his move represents more than just a personal step.
“I’m standing up not just for myself but for every artist who’s ever felt powerless or taken advantage of. We deserve better. We deserve transparency, fairness, and respect,” he said.
While he did not reference specific incidents, his comments come amid broader conversations about artist welfare in the Nigerian music industry, including issues that have previously surrounded Marlian Music.
With the launch of Zinodict Music, Zinoleesky now begins a new chapter, backed by a growing fan base built over the years. Early snippets of Nostalgia have already generated anticipation, with listeners eager to see how he defines this next phase of his career.
