I was watching a video the other day about yet another new trans documentary, Framing Agnes, and you can tell they have been watching ContraPoints videos:
I despise the way the ContraPoints presentation of trans issues (a satirical video ridiculing the interview format, which originally started with Nyk satiring The Dave Rubin Show), I hate the way this has become the standard. If you've ever read any ethnomethodology, you know how critical they are of the interview format. The format itself forces the interviewee to construct a strawman of themselves and their positions/rationalizations.
I feel this passage from the original ethnomethodological case study that was the impetus for the film, really strikes at the heart of what I have been saying about Nyk desperately trying to control and censor a past he cannot possibly ever hope to censor:
This is something I truly wonder about with regards to not just Nyk, but all these troons that want to delete their past and pretend they appeared out of thin air, forcing people to never use their deadnames or past pronouns, etc. How do they manage the extreme compartmentalization of their own memories? Do they just pretend they have no past? Or do they make their past into a currency they greedily guard and only share with a selected few, who are then made part of their conspiracy and placed under an Omerta, made to feel special for not talking about what they know? I feel like Nyk's cult of personality is very much based on this Omerta, on his fans hate-reading KF and secretly watching his old videos while made to feel guilty for satisfying their curiosity about his past. The most extreme example of this is of course the average ContraPoints stans who hates KF but still hate-lurks there. They will hate-lurk at threads about their favourite trans influences or Youtubers, usually in order to find old videos, but they are then overcome by such a sense of guilt and shame for doing so that they'll tries to wash his hands clean of the sin they just committed by leaving repeated deletion requests, as if it's someone else's problem that these stans couldn't help but satisfy his curiosity. I have said before that I consider this demonization of normal, healthy human curiosity the most dangerous and most damnable part of TRA.
The fact that a TRA would use a documentary to attack a cis researcher for insisting on the fact that troons do have a past that they constantly have to negotiate, that seems particularly ironic, as well as lacking in any self-awareness of that irony.
As usual with these trans narratives, there's the Big Gender Reveal Moment where the custodians (censors) of trans people's histories pry open the forgotten rusty archive to find the hidden treasure:
For course, there wouldn't have been anything to reveal if everyone had just freely refused to participate in the concealment from the very start.
Anyway, just putting this here because it's such a typical example of Nyk, while opportunistically disavowing his association with academia, nevertheless becoming the presentational standard for academia. What better way to present this story than with yet another ContraPoints ripped-off video? Hey, it all worked so well for Nyk.

I don’t think people understand what phobia is people aren’t afraid of transgender people people just don’t want to be fooled or deceived, or taken for a ride. yes, some people don’t like it when men are in dresses, claiming to be a woman, but there is a legitimate disease out there that makes them think that. As someone who suffers from mental health issues, I can relate and understand that, but at the same time, it’s never a good idea to fully immerse yourself. Or how would I put it like? if someone thinks they fly, you don’t put wings on them and then tell them you can jump off the roof you work with them and say you can’t do this and that’s OK. there are some birds that can’t fly and maybe you can be kind of like those birds like an ostrich I don’t think chickens can fly. Neither do penguins and they are birds. we could also work with why someone thinks like that and maybe medication can work maybe it can’t. I would like to explain myself more, but I’m currently on vacation.

University ‘blocks’ academic from her own gender wars research over ‘dangerous’ data
A university has “confiscated” the findings of an academic studying Britain’s gender wars in a row over her “dangerous” research data, The Telegraph can reveal.
Dr Laura Favaro began the first ever taxpayer-funded study into whether social scientists at universities feel censored over their views on transgender issues in March 2020 at City, University of London.
But it has descended into chaos, with the study’s author allegedly hounded out of the university, stripped of the findings she collected and barred from publishing them amid claims of transphobia.
Dr Favaro is now bringing an employment tribunal claim against City for harassment, victimisation and whistleblowing detriment, and claims she was discriminated against for her protected philosophical belief in the reality of biological sex.

Her study involved 50 individual interviews with academics in gender studies who identified as feminists, a representative survey of social scientists with 650 responses and hundreds of documents and tweets.
Scholars told her that they had threats of violence in the gender debate, hostility from colleagues, and others said they felt their careers “can’t survive that sort of backlash”, and that they have to have “secret conversations” to avoid reprisal and because “we are all so afraid”.
Her final work has not been published, as it was derailed by complaints about an article for Times Higher Education in which she warned that “a culture of discrimination, silencing and fear has taken hold”.
Following this, she says, her line managers told her that the study had “become an institutionally sensitive issue” and that “City considers my data to be dangerous” and is “frightened of making it public”.

I can see this reproductive technology being used in emergencies, like in an accident where the mother is almost dead but the fetus is still viable and the surviving family wants to keep it even and despite losing the mother, but otherwise... I don't want troons buying into this technology and having such a plastic bag with a fetus inserted into them so they can experience what it's like to be "pregnant". Because you know some troon is going to request that eventually, and some corrupt doctor with green in his eyes will carry out that request for the right amount.
