Nigerian DJ Princess Ntuk Williams, popularly known as DJ Pretty Play, has completed a 288-hour non-stop DJ performance in an attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest marathon club DJing.

The endurance challenge began on March 11 at Bay Lounge in Lekki, Lagos, and concluded on Monday after nearly 12 days of continuous performance. If officially verified, her attempt would surpass the current record of 244 hours and two minutes set by Italian DJ Faber Moreira in May 2024.

Speaking ahead of the challenge, DJ Pretty Play described the attempt as more than just a record-breaking effort, emphasizing discipline, passion, and resilience.

She said the goal was to push beyond personal limits and demonstrate what determination can achieve, noting that every second of the marathon performance counted toward making history.

The journey, however, was not without setbacks. Her initial attempt, which began earlier in March, was cut short after she violated a Guinness World Records rule by repeating a song within a four-hour window—an action that led to immediate disqualification. She was forced to restart the entire process.

Despite the early disappointment, DJ Pretty Play regrouped and began a fresh attempt, completing the full 288-hour stretch in her second run.

The event drew significant attention, with several Nigerian celebrities showing support during the challenge. Notable figures, including Anita Joseph, Charles Okocha, Ini Edo, D’banj, and Slimcase, visited or publicly cheered her on as she pushed through the demanding schedule.

Her attempt is now subject to official verification by Guinness World Records. The process typically involves strict guidelines, including continuous video documentation, independent witnesses, and adherence to regulated break periods.

If confirmed, the achievement would place DJ Pretty Play among a select group of international DJs recognized for marathon performances. It would also mark a significant moment for Nigeria’s entertainment industry, further spotlighting the global potential of the country’s female DJs.
