Koalas have the smoothest brains of any mammal with absolutely no folds. This is why they are often unable to perform complex behaviors. They can't understand food being offered to them outside of what it would be presented like in their normal environment. As a result, if you offer a koala eucalyptus leaves from your hand or a plate, they won't recognize it as food. You put it in a room filled with eucalyptus leaves in bowls and they will starve.
... I better not tell you what the babies eat.
