The demonstration, organised under the "Save Our Children" campaign, was led by social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), alongside members of his Ratel Movement and concerned residents. The protest came after weeks of nationwide outrage over the abduction of dozens of pupils and teachers from schools in Oriire Local Government Area.
