Granted, I'm not saying that what Josh did was okay, even for a teenager, just that one caused damage to children in real life and the other, as far as I know, didn't.

Kiwi Farms is framed often as engaging in libel. Troons routinely have convinced others things like the archived pages are faked by users or taken out of context. A lot of the worst behavior by trannies is further viewed as "just one bad actor" and not representative of the whole. Trannies on a whole note have done really well with the PR campaigns and constantly can just fall back on the non-existent perfectly passing tranny who never bothers anyone that totally does really exist in massive numbers.

Josh shot himself in his doubtlessly size 5 foot because the places he came in contact with groups outside of KF (New Zealand, journalists who emailed him) by telling them to fuck off. He established himself to people who never visit KF as this hot headed idiot and that makes it easier for people at large to give the benefit of the doubt to troons who managed to not get banned on every public platform.

This is a big reason why you don't see the government not being able to roll in and open someone's books to make sure they aren't embezzling without having to go through the same process they so getting warrants and such on individuals.

The implication there is the way the first amendment has historically been interpreted is that the government, and only the government, can't do shit to impede your freedom of speech. Corporations need no more justifications than anyone else here would need to block you from using their services.

Josh's game of being this last bastion of Freedom of Speech meant nothing because it wasn't ever the government after him. He needed to play a game of nice because he was dealing with businesses not government agencies. His rights don't mean much more than they do to another individual to Cloudflare.
