Onionfarms and reaction stickers

Probably the funniest things to see on the politisperg boards was people getting mad at the internet over stickers and I recall there being an entire state of the board once on KF that was users complaining that they received trash cans, hats, and puzzle pieces demanding that something should be done about the meanie stickers. Other than that I just interpret negrates as a way of a user saying that "your post wasn't that good and there's always room for improvement, calm down, and stop being an autistic schizo"

Yeah humor aspects aside the neg rates are useful for knowing how well you are fitting in with the forum culture, without 30 people replying to your post saying: "This isn't funny or interesting, stop posting." and further shitting up whatever thread you've already shit up with your posts.

An Agree and Disagree rating I feel like are probably the most important to add rn
I agree, but I'd go as far as to suggest that "Disagree" should be neutral rather than negative.

I think we need negative ratings because there isn't something quite as funny as seeing someone lose their shit over harmless negative stickers.
True. Despite the small cohort thus far, some people here have been known to hand out negrates like candy at Halloween, and other have been known to REEEEEEEEEE about negrates to the point of earning their own "Please do not rate x's post as "dumb" or "autistic"" threads on KF.

We're best off steering away from stickers, you end up with the reddit problem where people don't bother to have dissenting opinions because they will get negrated, and once people see opinions they disagree with they just rate it Autistic/Disagree/Dumb and don't bother to discuss it which is what a forum should be used to do. People also end up farming positive ratings and making the most broad posts without any critical discussion in an attempt to appeal as broadly as possible to people. Overall, stickers have a severely negative impact on discussion because people focus on them so much. Taking away ratings would encourage people to discuss their opinions and beliefs more thoroughly and critically as they don't have the thought "is this going to get as many green checks as possible" and "will this make garbage can icons appear in my notifications" in the back of their mind. People will also go into detail about opinions they disagree with rather than hitting the disagree rating. I only see taking away stickers to have a net positive.
