Are you guys arguing over easily found facts? Moral fagging over people pointing them out as well?
16 is the age in around half of US states. 18 is a common misconception thanks to things like CA being 18 and so much of our pop culture coming from the state.

I also hate to be the bearer of news here but in most of the western world it is bellow 18 too.. In fact half of western europe is under 16.. (14-15) Germany didn't technically have one till a few years ago and still might not in practice. (statutory rape had to be proven, regardless of age, now it's technically set to 14, with a Romeo and Juliet law for younger ages) This whole debate and moral fagging here over <18 is very much a US centric POV. And very extremely a modern thing.. You go back even ~30-40 years in the US, and you start running into <16s. Go back a few decades more and 12s and 14s too.
