You can clearly see how much Newgrounds influenced both the Internet and even mainstream pop culture.
But Newgrounds is not without controversy. Since its launch, Newgrounds has been the start of some fan made hentai games with controversial and dark themes, Pico's School is a game about a school shooting (and this game was posted on Newgrounds months after the Columbine High School massacre), and The Slaying of Sandy Hook Elementary (a game that was posted on Newgrounds that parodies the Sandy Hook massacre but was removed from Newgrounds by the request of the families of the victims). There's a reason as to why Newgrounds still commands attention on the Internet to this day and it's because content creators use it to push boundaries and express themselves, even if someone inevitably does get offended.
