Reddit does not support free speech, and yet I would not support taking down reddit. Kiwifarms does not have to be consistent in it's support for free speech for me to oppose taking the site down. I don't think that it's the last bastion of free speech or anything like that. I am critical of many of his decisions and the community standards held by Kiwifarms. But this is not a justifiable reason for taking Kiwifarms down.

I suppose Reddit doesn't support free speech, but then Reddit doesn't profess itself to be what Kiwifarms profess itself do be, does it?

Not taking down Kiwifarms was the natural point of view for many people some years back, yet the more you learned about Joshua and the community, and of its harassment and meanspirited doxxing of others, the more you understood that Kiwifarms is anything but a platform for free speech and anti-censorship. It's so much more than that, and it isn't pretty.

It's not that Kiwifarms is no longer "consistent in its support for free speech" that's the problem.
The problem is that Joshua and much of its userbase are psycopaths and sadists who use free speech as a pathetic excuse to be vicious and vindictive.

No reasonable person is in favor if this, and your commitment to not be opposed to such behaviour, to the point where you don't want disgusting platforms to be taken down and its perpetrators to face punishment and thus justice, only belies your naivety and how you conflate freedom of speech with some sort of shitty mentality of not caring about decency and good conduct on the Internet.

As others have said: freedom of speech does not mean freedom of consequences.
It's time that Joshua and Kiwifarms has a proper taste of that.

Kiwifarms is basically a private messaging site with a small public area. USPG2 is the site's FYAD part, where the users laugh and shitpost, before getting into the spicy chats in DMs, numerous users have been caught sharing porn, hentai, and especially lolicon in DMs. Even worse is them sending pictures of their genitals to each other. Null allowing the users to do such things while complaining about fucking Capcom games makes him look like a gigantic retard.

Even the doxing part mostly amounts to collecting publicly available info (which is a problem, but not Kiwi Farms's problem). I do not believe many people have been actually harmed in any by it, since doxing is illegal in many places now, but nobody has actually used that to go after Kiwi Farms even though the site is notorious enough that plenty of DAs would love to try. iirc Kiwi Farms even survived a Biden administration grand jury investigation in 2022. If the site itself were overtly illegal, that surely would have done it in, but it did not.

I wouldn't call data breaches "publicly available information." More like "the fruits of cybercrime."

Most of it is not from data breaches but those "look up name, get info on address and family" sites where half of it is paywalled. That is from data that companies are legally allowes to harvest in the US and sell to those sites. Other sources are voter databases because some states are/were stupid enough to let you brute force the system without an SSN or other info (address plus name and sometimes DOB does it). As for how you find this, most people online post about their birthdays and drop hints where they live. You fill in the rest from there, just like Kiwifags regularly do.

None of that is illegal, at least not until recently when compiling it in the form of a dox became illegal in some places. But even in some places which ban doxing, the law is vague enough that Kiwi Farms or even the people doing the doxing could skirt by with a decent lawyer on their side. Although doxing is absolutely one of the key reasons why KF has such a target on its back. It never should have been allowed, since even if Null claims that if he banned doxing they would still be trying to take him down, Null himself admits it brings all sorts of liability with it and he screeches at his users for using the site as a database to find people to fuck with IRL all the time (something Josh Moon himself is well above, like he would never run a lolcow's bank account or do other IRL trolling).

While I do agree with you in general regarding the way Kiwifarms ideally shouldn't get shut down by ISP:s, and about the ethics of doxxing and whatnot, I must stress that I find Kiwifarms to be malicious and degenerate to a point that it's arguably unique in the way it presents the information it gathers about people, and how discussion about this information and the people affected is conducted.
I'm saying this as an old shitposter myself who love the way the "old Internet" used to be.

It's possible that the problems that the giant nest of shit that Kiwifarms and Joshua presents will become even bigger and broader issues in the future. It's clear that the laws must become far more precise than they currently are, if websites like Kiwifarms, which exists almost solely for harassment and extremism in one form or another is to be dealt with properly.

I want a website like Kiwifarms without:
1) Fat fuck Joshua and his constant sperging.
2) Doxxing (or Ph0Neb0oKiNG).
3) Any contact with the "lolcows".
4) Radical feminists who can't shut the fuck about so-called "moids" or how men apparently want to rape little girls at every chance they get.
5) The extreme politics that permeate fucking everything about the website.
6) Oldfags who can't stop being negative and hostile about every fucking thing.

If Kiwifarms was like it presented itself to be when I started using it back in 2019, and was just a place to discuss drama on the Internet and for having a laugh about what very excentric individuals do, then I would have had far less problems with it.
