Yes, I did some light editing so it would be more appealing to the general public. Don't worry you will still have your lolcow gossip forum. Domesticated foxes

Foxes can't be domesticated. That shit takes thousands of years. Sure you can probably keep one as a pet but it's not going to give a fuck about you. It only knows that it has an easier life because you're bringing it food so it will coexist with you.

Not being afraid of humans is not the same thing as domestication. Look at what a wolf does when it stops being afraid of humans, that's why wolf dog hybrids are so dangerous.

Farm animals, horses, cats and dogs, even ferrets are domesticated but foxes? Gtfoh. It's going to take a lot more than some free food for those things to be our pets.
Cats are not domesticated they're tamed. There are already pet foxes and they're not much more difficult to handle than having a cat or dog. The whole thing with needing an enclosure is something that in my opinion should honestly be applied to cats because they're invasive and wipe out native wildlife populations which is why they shouldn't roam free in places that do not have native wild cats already. It's why Australia cages and shoots stray cats to protect their native species. As much as I like cats they're considered pests in a lot of places they don't belong and people just let them roam free without thinking of consequences. I wouldn't want to own a fox because they would be annoying but I don't necessarily agree with your reasoning.

Reason: Cats are annoying enough even though I like them and have cats myself.
