Yes, it's perfectly normal to have mild surface level conversations with a minor and they don't even have to be related to you. Teachers, coaches, youth groups, whatever do it all the time. If you can't have a normal conversation with a minor and need to shield yourself from being a pedo creep by any means necessary you're just telling on yourself.
