He's an alcoholic who I think is divorced from his wife for being abusive. He has no job and just sits at home (or so the story goes). Basically I am a fat burger-boiling 63 year old autistic retard and a lolcow. But I have a successful career and I am successfully running a forum so well..he kind of resents that. Even other kiwis have told him from time to time to calm down. I don't recall anything ever happening between us.
 
He used to watch all the hours of Rackets streams loyally everyday, parasocially pretending he was getting drunk with lawyer friends instead of getting drunk sad and alone, and was Rackets last white knight until it literally became impossible to do so without getting Reddit downvotes negative KF stickers.
 
I saw AnOminous post some rather annoying yet somewhat amusing things, so I thought I'd share.

Everyone in this KF thread was telling Graf to get a lawyer to pay tens of thousands of dollars to do the civil lawsuit that he had threatened to do. The proposed lawsuit was for... what real cause of action or damages I'm not sure, alleged libel. This is the worst possible advice. You do not need a lawyer to do a personal civil lawsuit, especially if you're not rich and rolling in money. Yeah, maybe ask a lawyer for free advice before you do your stupid, likely frivolous lawsuit for supposed libel (or whatever), but don't waste a dime on them. The lawyer will be happy to suck up all the thousands of dollars of your wealth and lead you to lose the lawsuit on top of that, and then drop you when the judge orders you to pay the damages to the other party for the lawsuit you lost.

Better yet, don't file a civil lawsuit in the first place unless you rather know what you're doing and have a good chance of winning, or if you have an obvious cause of action that is likely to win. A Canadian (Graf) suing an American company for alleged "libel" doesn't sound like a productive use of time and thousands of dollars. Unless I guess if you're filing in forma pauperis and don't have much to lose anyway. I don't know if Graf even has much money. At any rate, Graf probably doesn't have the time and dedication required both to carry through this lolsuit and administrate his website. He probably should just drop the lawsuit if he has common sense (optimistic).

It's a retarded boomer mentality that anyone needs to spend thousands of dollars to hire a lawyer to do absolutely anything in the legal realm, so I'm probably speaking in the wind here. But wasting tens of thousands on a lawyer on top of attempting an obviously frivolous and bad civil lawsuit for "libel" is just idiotic. Unless maybe you're purposely trying to give Graf bad advice to bankrupt him (based?)? But I know you're not. You really believe in this bullshit.

Yeah, there has been a lot of inflation and prices may have doubled in about the last 10 years. But what do you mean "a million bucks does not go anywhere near as far as it used to?" You would know? Have you tried budgeting?

I'll note here that the bourgeouisie is properly the middle class and has nothing to do with rich people who are sitting on a million dollars or more in assets. Which yes, I know a lot of Americans today have the mentality that one million is nothing, but compared to the overwhelming majority of people in the world yes, you are rich if you have that much. Especially if you don't blow it all fast on luxuries, crap you don't need, and excessive food.

Again, have you tried budgeting? Have you ever tried working, for that matter? Like a job?

But you do need an attorney to represent you when you file a major civil lawsuit. The one exception is possibly small claims court for a minor amount.

Not to mention that defamation law is a specialised area in which few lawyers practice. It's not an area in which to self-represent and the legal fees are usually enormous.

You can't be in contempt of court if you're not subject to the jurisdiction of the court in the first place and you can absolutely criticise the way jurists are handling matters before them (it happens with matters before SCOTUS all the time).

It's a US federal court. The US federal court system has jurisdiction over the entire country of the US.

No, actually you can't falsely imply that a federal judge is a 'crackbrained' 'dipshit'. It's contempt of court and libel, not valid 'criticism'. It's defamation against the judge's character (drug accusation) and also it's contempt of court because it's maliciously interfering with an active court case. You shouldn't even need this explained to you unless there is something very wrong with your brain.

Correction, you could defame a judge during an active court case, if you want to go to jail for contempt. I don't advise you doing that but I can't stop you if you want to have a go at it. I also couldn't stop you if you want put a bullet through your own thick, halfwit skull, but I don't endorse that either.
