Mireddys González has filed a motion with the San Juan Court of First Instance asking that Daddy Yankee be declared in contempt of court and fined $5,000 per day. The request is based on claims that the singer has failed to comply with a court order requiring him to submit detailed financial information related to joint business ventures. The judge handling the case has granted Daddy Yankee a 10-day extension to fulfill the court’s request. The new deadline for compliance is set for May 31. As of now, the singer’s legal team has not made any public statements regarding either the contempt motion or the extension granted by the court.

This latest filing is part of a broader legal conflict between the reggaeton star and his ex-wife. In March 2025, Daddy Yankee filed a $250 million lawsuit against González and her sister, Ayeicha González, accusing them of financial mismanagement involving his companies El Cartel Records and Los Cangris Inc. According to the lawsuit, the González sisters allegedly made unauthorized withdrawals from company funds and failed to provide proper financial documentation, actions which Daddy Yankee claims negatively impacted his businesses and financial health.
