It would not surprise me if there is an international investigation and warrants out for arrests against the Sharty given everything I heard about them. To be honest, I have a neutral view on things like doxing and trolling because I really do not care about what people do online so long as no one's rights are being trampled on.

With that said, you have to understand that we live in a post-Columbine and a post-9/11 world where our freedoms have been vastly eroded away since then.

Why was the Patriot Act passed into law? It was an overreaction to the 9/11 attacks that gave the American government more surveillance powers in the name of "stopping the terrorists" (which would be proven to do the opposite as whistleblowers like Edward Snowden pointed out). There goes our 4th Amendment rights.

Then there is Columbine. Why do federal and state agencies take any death threats and calls for violence seriously? Because Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold kept bragging about shooting up their school (they gave strong hints including that now infamous home movie of them being 'Hitmen for Hire'). After Columbine, threats of violence being made either IRL or online started to be taken much more seriously, even if the "threat" in question is within the context of a joke. There goes some of the 1st Amendment rights for both minors and adults.

A good example of this is the story of a 4channer named Richard Golden that made a post in regards to a Jewish sheriff from Florida and they posted and I quote:

":Just shoot Chitwood in the head and he stops being a problem. They have to find a new guy to be the new problem.

But shooting Chitwood in the head solves an immediate problem permanently. Just shoot Chitwood in the head and murder him.

Now obviously anyone who is terminally online enough will realize this is a joke (especially since "In Minecraft" shows that while it's a tasteless and vile statement but still a joke) and Richard Golden was not being serious but the Florida authorities don't understand the concept of Poe's Law so they signed off on a warrant for his arrest and he was soon arrested afterwards for making the alleged threat against the Florida sheriff.

The reason why I call the Sharty as retards is while I do appreciate them for keeping the spirit of the old Internet alive for as long as possible; if you ask me they're asking for it because they fail to acknowledge that things like 9/11 and Columbine make governments hostile towards platforms like the Sharty.

Tragic events like Columbine and 9/11 and the shit that went on during the Alt-Right years have eroded our freedoms away and we no longer live in the before time when we use to enjoy our rights much more compared to now; especially as these days governments around the world (be it democratic or autocratic) have taken upon themselves to pass laws in the name of "safety". I don't want to defend Jersh but even he acknowledges this when he was talking about how he wants to change the definition of doxing not too long ago because some U.S. states (both red and blue states) are now starting to criminalize doxing in the name of public safety.

Face it; the Sharty, Kiwi Farms, and websites like them are a critically endangered species because how things were 15 years ago is different to now. It's like how a species goes extinct if they cannot adapt to their new environment.

One pattern I notice with these so-called "free speech" platforms is that they tend to be a breeding ground for political extremism (often involving the incitement of violence) and eventually it goes into a purity spiral where some of their members go through with acting on something stupid or horrifying. Let's see some examples where this happened.

Here's one that hits close to the Kiwi's homes. So back when the Alt-Right was relevant, stuff like "Remove Kebab" and other anti-Muslim rhetoric was really popular back in the day given how the political climate was like back then. Brenton Tarrant (a New Zealand terrorist) would start a live stream on Facebook and gave a link to the live stream on 8chan where he started the Facebook stream with the infamous words "Remember lads, subscribe to PewDiePie" and then he proceeded to take out his weapons and gunned down several muslims praying in a mosque while he was playing several meme songs such as "Serbia Strong" (the 'Remove Kebab' meme song written during the Yugoslav wars of the 1990's that is popular with anti-Muslim rhetoric), The British Grenadiers (a traditional British marching song), and Gas Gas Gas (the classic Eurobeat song that was made popualr by the anime community). After that horrific incident, 8chan was deplatformed (although Jim Watkins who is the father of Ron Watkins (aka CodeMonkeyZ) claimed they "voluntiary" took down 8chan off the clearnet) and then 8chan had to work with the feds for a while as part of the investigation over the Christchruch shooting. 8chan would eventually come back online by being rebranded as 8kun but despite the grand re-opening, 8kun (8chan) was never the same after this. Brenton Tarrant was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

The Daily Stormer:

You could say The Daily Stormer was The Sharty before The Sharty. It's a far-right online publication run by Andrew Angilin and its readerbase is known as the "Troll Army" (Sounds very familiar, doesn't?) So if you remember the Unite the Right rally, they mocked the death of a left-wing protestor named Heather Heyer who was killed at the hands of a white supremacist named James Alex Fields Jr. (he is currently serving a life sentence in federal prison for murder and attempted murder with his Dodge Charger). That would result in The Daily Stormer getting deplatformed. If that wasn't bad enough, what sealed Andrew Anglin's fate in regards to his finances was when he doxed a Jewish woman in Montana that criticized The Daily Stormer and then he did the dumbest thing ever by doing a call to action where he told his "Troll Army" to harass this woman which would result in a class action lawsuit in Montana and the judge ordered Andrew Angilin to pay 14 million dollars in damages for harassing this woman (he never showed up to court as he was hiding from authorities at the time like a coward). The Daily Stormer is still online but much like with Gab, it's been debanked and they're barely holding on now.

Gab:

The "free speech" social media website run by a retarded Christian boomer named Andrew Torba. Now Gab is filled to the brim with antisemites and other far-right groups in which Andrew Torba often encourages this. This would lead to one of Gab's members (Robert Bowers) getting self-radicalized to the point that they decided to commit the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting that resulted in 11 people dying. Gab was then deplatformed for months due to their connection to the perpetrator and Robert Bowers would be charged and senceted for mass murder and domestic terrorism (he would be sentenced to death). Gab would eventually come back online and enact some stricter rules in cracking down any calls for violence but Gab was never the same since then, it stagnated in its growth. Much like Jersh, both Gab and Andrew Torba would get effectively debanked.


I bring these three examples because there were online platforms that breed and encouraged political extremism where inevitably each of them had their own versions of Timothy McVeigh that self-radicalized themselves where not only did the individuals that committed these outrageous acts of violence and committing forms of criminal harassment not only ruined their own lives but they also permanently ruined the online communities they were a part of.

I don't want to sound morbid but I have the strong feeling that the same fate someday awaits the Sharty because some of their individuals are unhinged (to put it really nicely) where my greatest fear is that one of the Sharty anons may act up and do something that will earn them a spot in the hall of Internet infamy. Given how fucking unhinged the Sharty is, someday they're going to do something very stupid or outright horrifying that we will see them featured on the afternoon news for the wrong and horrifying reasons.

Platforms that try to run on a "unlimited speech no matter what!!!!!!!!!" ruleset always go down in flames because of this. The website owners attract failures just like them. I'll just say this, before someone else calls me a 'bitch about free speech' or a 'statist faggot' let me give my thoughts on this.

Free speech is very important and I'm not going to be one of those "I like free speech but" assholes.

Governments should be called out because no government should never be put on a marble pedestal (state worship is for loser faggots regardless who the head of state is).

Powerful moral busybody groups like the NAACP and the Anti-Defamation League should be called out for using their positions of power (in this case they use their minority status to crybully their way into things whether it's calling something racism when it's not racism or calling Mel Gibson "antisemitic" because of his film The Passion of the Christ).

Everyone deserves criticism when it is warranted (criticism is not harassment).

I do support maximum freedom on the Internet. Want to call someone a nigger or a kike or a faggot on the Internet? You should be able to do this. Want to point out Israel's uncomfortable influence on the world? You should be able to do so. Want to post dumbass theories that show why you think the Earth is flat? You should be able to do so. Want to post edgy offensive porn? You should be able to do this as well.

Unfortunately the main issue I see with these "free speech" platforms is that they often don't promote the responsibility that comes with free speech. The less attractive thing about freedom is the responsibility that comes with it. Unfortunately some don't get the memo and abuse their freedoms that results in the government stepping in to further reduce freedoms for everyone else. It's why we have bullshit laws in the books that restrict some of our freedoms because some idiot does something, people don't want to take responsibility, and then they hand over this responsibility to the government to do the thinking for them.

That's my main issue I have with the Sharty, they don't want to take responsibility and if they do something that results in the government stepping in with legislation that further erodes our freedoms then I'm going to blame them.

I wish people could understand this. Freedom is great and I love freedom but if you want to keep your freedom then don't do things that will give the government a reason to take them away. Responsibility is actually the best thing anyone can do for having a less autocratic government. A government becomes autocratic when the population wants to trade in responsibility for safety.

Why do you think Jersh wants to change the definition of doxing so that he can legally keep his website up on the clearnet? Because some people online are not responsible and never ask themselves "I could do this but should I?" which resulted in some U.S. states making doxing a felony now within the past few years (and it's only a matter of time that this becomes a crime on a federal level).

Don't want to get fucked in the ass by the government? Take responsibility and the government will have less reasons to screw you over. I hate how some people online are too lazy or too inept to take responsibility which results in Big Tech and sometimes the government stepping in to punish everyone else that have not done anything wrong.

They don't seem to have any political ties to what they do or why they do it, they just think it's funny. Whereas the trolls and archivers KF has now have been mostly replaced by Null sychophants and /pol/ posters who are too easily offended and ideological to banter and mess with people like the Sharty.

Sig was an admin for lolcow.org and what got the site booted off was that he posted a specific threat that President Biden would be shot on Independence Day and no one would be able to stop it. He put that right on the home page with that Ukrainian body builder meme dressed up in Muslim dress. The website was hosted out of Australia. Yeah it was a joke but guess what, it's still a felony.
 
At this rate, I have more respect for Stormfront than I do for the Sharty, Kiwi Farms, Gab, 8Kun, and The Daily Stormer.

At least Stormfront, despite being controversial, they never did anything that resulted in them getting deplatformed constantly or debanked as far as I know so I'll give credit where credit is due.
