Why have stickers at all? And don't give the gay excuse of "oh I like watching people seethe", the main reason KF exists was to originally mock a mentally ill manchild, not become just another forum. It's run it's course, and it bit itself in the ass by trying to be more than and outlasting it's original purpose.

Personally, I understand both sides of the sticker issue.

On the one hand, you have those who give out neg-rates, and then they don't contribute in any real discussion. They believe as if the sticker should be the signifier of their opinions and viewpoints and nothing more. They don't feel the need to add to the discussion to make it more autistic or to get validation for their opinion. Their sticker speaks for itself and they move on with their day. Or sometimes, they add the sticker because "lol ur (this sticker)". After all, that's what they're there for. That's their purpose. To be a representation of your approval or disapproval or just your reaction.

But then you have those who get those negrates and are desperate in wanting someone to come at them with a rebuttal to their viewpoints or whatnot. But they grow increasingly dissatisfied with the idea that LOL IT'S JUST STICKERS. Well obviously, the person using those ratings rated the person's response with the sticker, the sticker being the thing that represents their beliefs on a situation. The person rated with that sticker wants to hear more from that person beyond the sticker shitposting to see if their arguments have weight. So if you don't give any sort of rebuttal and just leave it at a sticker, the person becomes increasingly angry at you or whatnot, irrationally. This is what led to that utterly hilarious thread with @crocodilian sperging out about @snailslime and @zedkissed60. After all, it's a forum where we can say whatever the fuck we want almost as long as it doesn't inconvenience Our Dear Leader.

There's an interesting grasp of psychology to it all. To the way we use the internet, the way we communicate, interactions, and whatnot. How the stickers are so specific in their purpose in response to other people's posts. How one can become obsessed with people's opinions and perspectives and what they meant by just one sticker. They are quite an interesting weapon.

It prevents extraneous posts. Why clog up the discussion just to say you agree?

On Kiwifarms it also adds to the highlight feature and indicates the posts worth reading if you're trying to get into a cow.

I've said so often before that people wouldn't care half as much if there wasn't a point system associated. It's so the stickers themselves than the perception that their epenis is getting shorter.

Exactly. That's what I've been thinking for a long time myself. It essentially tried to become something that there's already enough of. Like, what can you get at KF that you can't get anywhere else? Gossip? There's Lipstick Alley, Guru Gossip, the Dirty, etc. They just won't tolerate you for thinking you're better than "normies" because you know this one mentally ill manchild they don't know amidst all the others they do. General discussion about whatever? Fuck, even Reddit has that. Politisperging laden with racial slurs? /pol/ is still around, last I checked. The problem with KF is that they think too highly of themselves, and it's bit 'em in the ass. They flew too close to the sun and got burned. At least I found a nice song for them to go out on.

There are many problems but one major issue is the age of the lolcow is dead. That being how kiwi itself assesses them; you can technically class anyone as one, they have a thread for Shane Dawson ffs. The core function of the site becomes this chase the pink dragon for the next great lolcow but in actuality their boss the whole time is pretty exceptional.

The culture thus either retires off to other pastures knowing the lols are not the same (they are not) or become equally irritable with one another and cannibalises itself. Entire sub-forums are barely used and their users act hostile to any new members, Beauty Parlour is a prime example here. KF has always been pretty hostile but nowadays it is nothing but.

The problem with KF is the same problem with YA books, with video games, with sports teams, with a lot of things: eventually, retards get involved, and tard everything up. Beauty Parlour in particular reads like the inner thought process of some typical femcel wine mom who writes YA books: how dare people not realize how great I am, especially to some random fat slob or junkie. Seriously, literally every "cow" on the site nowadays has never elicited a "lol" from me. Not even CWC. I've always gotten the impression that the very idea of a "lolcow" was just a means to make people feel better about themselves - I mean, look at how many pages Amberlynn/Chantal/Luna Slater/Sagi have. Are they really that interesting, let alone funny?

Also, I think it's funny they consider DSP a lolcow considering he's pretty much doing everything Josh has been doing for years: e-begging, cringeposting, being a total dumbass, you name it, he's done it. KF could be taken a lot more seriously if they didn't simp for the Lolcow of Lolcows while simultaneously saying everyone else is one. The fact that they're so triggered by Onion Farms like the self-hating millenials they are is just another piece of the pie.

Imagine gatekeeping gossiping about the mentally ill (while simultaneously complaining white people have problems too and that they are ignored, mind you, when they themselves turn white people with problems into lolcows) and then sperging out when "splinter sites" develop.

Lolcow Farm? I've lurked on there. You can easily tell that every last anon on there is male. They try way too hard to pretend they're women. It reads like a parody of /r9k/ - just swap out every foid with moid, every roastie with scrote, blah blah blah. I think the problem with gossip sites is that they inevitably become flooded with losers who think that if they can win over even just a few fellow ones online, their offline life will suddenly matter more because, damn it, look at all my stickers/updoots/likes/etc! I mean something!
