It's really bizarre until you realize that this is just how women are--like returning to their "abusive" husbands or boyfriends because they realize they have no relevance outside creating this drama for themselves.

I once shared my thoughts with a friend who worked at a domestic abuse shelter, a place that also offered counseling and social services. I said, "If they don't like it, they can leave." I'm aware that there are genuine situations where an abuser can gain control over a vulnerable person. However, this doesn't dismiss the fact that some women seem to thrive on drama and attention. They bask in the spotlight of victimhood, and nothing validates them more than being a battered, abused, and used victim. Some even go out of their way to provoke a reaction, just so they can wear their victimhood like a badge of honor.
