Infection with COVID - 19 virus in patients wtih chronic kidney disease increases the risk of kidney injury and is stretching patient dialysis resources to the limit in some of your hardest hit areas. Later in this article, it mentions that up to 40% of patients on a ventilator will have problems with their kidneys. It places a big demands on nursing staff and I am sure it is having a secondary effect on Renal Dialysis Technicans as well. I am guessing this disease aggrevates other underlying health conditions such as heart disease, COPD and quite possibly HIV infection as well.
