With the recent flap over the journalists getting banned from Twitter, Elon Musk may not be quite the free speech absolutist we once thought. I am working with staff on a Twitter alternative that will be friendly to the "farms" communities and stay committed to free speech. Yes, people from the Kiwifarms will be welcome.
 
I don't think free speech absolutism makes sense. In that case, the platform looks much more reasonable now.

I also read that it's tough in places like Mastodon because there are different mods per server, and they can ban you for even more trivial reasons. They might end up with many servers, few members per server, and each one wary of posting because one might post the wrong thing and can banned permanently. They'll be like echo chambers that are isolated from each other and not a lot of activity.
 
Observing many of the twittards, many of them have straight up moved back to tumblr in many cases. Or they've taken to using Candid 2: Electric Butthole Glue, also known as Hive Social. But the big two are the main Mastodon node and Tumblr. The second one, hive social which I highly suspect is a data harvesting honey pot, is mobile exclusive which means it has no desktop frontend. I'll investigate further into hive social later once I have the time, if people wish.

i have been looking into this and i found a great host called shinjru they are offshore and are great with free speech they still have not dropped josh and kiwifarms and also allow bitcoin and other crypto payments they may be slightly slower than western hosts but for people who use tor and most others are not gonna notice so i think its worth a try https://www.shinjiru.com/

Why are you necroing all these threads. This issue was resolved in September.
 
On January 16th, there was an article in a blog (Matthew Hopkins - The Witchfinder General) that contained the following paragraph.

After consulting with staff, I've issued the following response concerning this matter. Interventions of this type run contrary to the values of this forum and as such we disavow any actions of this sort. While Vodrak is certainly free to print whatever he feels is appropriate in his blog we also have an obligation in responding to issues that could potentially impact this forum. We say this kindly but firmly in acting in the best interests of Onionfarms.
