Only 770,747 babies were born in Japan last year. That's half of the country's death rate, which last year increased to 9% — or 1.57 million people. That increase was driven in part by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Japan is already one of the oldest countries in the world. The country's median age is nearly 49, coming in second only behind Monaco.

For years, the government has been trying to encourage people to have more children, offering cash incentives and up to a year of parental leave. But these efforts have so far fallen short.

The government is expected to earmark 3.5 trillion yen ($25.2 billion) annually on childcare services and higher education subsidies over the next three years, but many experts fear the additional funding does not address underlying issues.

Japan is one of the most expensive places in the world to raise a child. It also has the largest gender wage gap among the G7 nations, with women earning only 78% of what their male counterparts make. Experts also say that the country's strenuous corporate culture makes it difficult for people to consider having children or to make time for child care.

"The youth population will start decreasing drastically in the 2030s. The period of time until then is our last chance to reverse the trend of dwindling births," Kishida said this week.

I’m confused are you claiming that anime is a reason why no one is getting hot and down tonight.
I believe the reason well one of the reasons that Japan has such a low birth rate is because most people feel so lonely and the workload in Japan is so much. people work until they die mentality.
The only time I see people really happy in Japan whenever I see videos is in Shibuya or Disneyland or Universal Studios.
The mental health in Japan is horrible.

I think you're correct in pointing out it's the culture of working yourself to death in the name of (insert company here) and the zombie like state of Japan economy that's slowly draining the life of its people.
 
Considering they have to hire people to push other people into trains because they can't fit without being squeezed in like a pack of sardines, I don't consider this an entirely bad thing.

I think that’s mostly in like the Tokyo area . There’s a lot of space in rural areas. Best way to make monies in the city.
 
I think the whole world could use some population decline in general. Not for something stupid like environmentalism or anything, just for shorter lines and less traffic.

pretty much. though its not a problem limited to Japan. But japan is wierd because they hate the very concept of preserving anything for the future and would rather destroy their own history and preserve some no name traditions that no one cares about instead of celebrating the living and living for the ones they loved who have passed on.

Japan is a country full of stubborn people stuck in their ways. This is how they keep their economy going. They have been stuck in a zombie economy for decades. However, this stubbornness comes at the cost of stagnation.

cant say i feel sorry for the retards. they're hellbent on labeling any normal foreigner who wants to assimilate "NG" and blocked/banned but the ones who actively mess with people and vandalize shit get a free pass and are tolerated. Hence the johnny somali shit. yeah he was arrested in Korea, but he also trolled japanese people in japan too.

But for some reason leftists never bring up that aspect of japan's history while attacking their own culture despite it having nothing to do with those long dead European Ideologies.
