In other news today. Spain has blocked Archive .today and similar sites from being accessed from the EU. It may start in Spain. But I could see this being blocked in the EU and the UK. Given that the site owner in the past has gotten away with a crime of framing a blogger for something they didn't do. The Broomsticks are going to be so angry.

The last dumb thing I've heard from Mr. Enter was him in his autistic wisdom thinking Turning Red (a Disney-Pixar family movie) needed a 9/11 reference; which is laughably retarded where while the film does take place in the early-2000's, the fact that Mr. Enter wanted to have a horrific tragedy like that being included in a family film is just plain inappropriate (it be like watching a movie about rebellious teenage youths that takes place in the year 2012 and you want the movie to reference the Sandy Hook massacre, it's a really stupid idea to do that in a movie like that).

I'm don't think anyone that is serious really cares about Mr. Enter anymore.

Yes Mr. Enter is a mediocre cartoon critic that takes children's cartoons way too seriously and he often reviews said children's cartoons in bad faith (because Mr. Enter has absurdly high standards for writing in children's shows where he wants the writing to be like Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul for many children's shows that were intentionally designed to be simplistic enough for children in the first place). Mr. Enter doesn't prove the animation community is cringe (because the animation community is filled with cartoon critics on the Internet with much more likeable personalities), the only thing Mr. Enter proves is that every nerd community in general is going to have its own Movie Bob that lets their personal biases and political beliefs dictate their entire world view on just about everything to the point of them becoming blinded from seeing objective reality (it doesn't matter if it's video games, animation, movies, TV shows, books, music, or whatever the case may be; every fandom is going to have a Movie Bob).

I don't subscribe to the whole 'muh-Cartoons are for kids' rhetoric, because I can name some Western cartoons that while designed for a general audience I can still watch unironcally as an adult and still enjoy them (Avatar: The Last Airbender, Ed, Edd n Eddy, and Courage the Cowardly Dog are cartoons that I still enjoy as an adult because they're well written and they were very well ahead of their time). I still watch animated content but I don't take it to the same autistic level as Mr. Enter does.

But the point I'm trying to make here, unless Mr. Enter has committed a serious crime or he has scammed someone recently or he has done something vile (where to my knowledge Mr. Enter hasn't done anything of the sort), then there is no reason for anyone to bother with Mr. Enter anymore as there hasn't been anything new on the table about the guy in years. Anyone that complains about Mr. Enter being a shitty cartoon critic that takes children's shows way too seriously is beating a dead horse at this point.

I'm not really too surprised here given how last year the FBI issued a subpoena to unmask the owner of Archive Today.

It seems Spain blocked them over copyright infringement reasons; which makes sense as Archive Today is notorious for helping people consume copyrighted material (like movies, TV shows, and such) while also helping people access paywalled content for free.

While the FBI never officially stated as to why they are investigating Archive Today, we can safely assume it's for the same reasons as to why online platforms hosting pirated video games got shut down on behalf of Nintendo (and the rest of the video game industry) anyway.

I don't disagree with you here, in fact when it comes to the copyright system it's one of the few things I do agree with Jersh and the Kiwis here and it's that the copyright system is OP and it needs to be nerfed.

Even if you cannot convince your average boomer lawmaker that copyright often goes against the principles of free speech, you can still make a solid right-wing economics argument that the copyright system as we know it today is simply a form of government regulation that stagnates innovation and it keeps stagnating any meaningful long-term innovation while this keeps the big entertainment companies holding on to their corrupt oligarchy on the entertainment industry in general. The copyright system as we know it has been the fucking bane of the Internet's existence since it's creation back in the early-1990's and the bane of content creators in general that want to put their stuff out there but can't because the big corrupt corporations won't let them.

Just look at Disney. Why is is so fucking difficult for any film studio (big and small) to make their own takes on classic European fairy tales? Because Disney made their own adaptions of said fairy tales and their lawyers are hawkishly protective of Disney's assets that they will sue just about anyone if they think a fairy tale movie from another studio is too similar to Disney's film adaptations (which can mean literately fucking anything as studios like Disney love broad laws and broad regulations when it comes to copyright so they can bully other studios).

One exception I can think of with Disney is Dreamworks where they've managed to stick it to Disney with the Shrek films (a comedy film series that parodies and satirizes Disney movies) where the films use the exact same fairy tales that Disney uses for their film adaptations only Dreamworks has an advantage as parody and satire of copyrighted works is protected under American law and there is nothing Disney can do about it (it's why Cartoon Network's Robot Chicken gets to exist in the first place). But even then, Dreamworks still has to walk a fine line so Disney doesn't screw them over anyway.

I don't think the copyright system as we know it will ever be fully abolished someday (although that would be very based if that did happened) but I do realistically see fair use getting stronger legal protections along with shielding smaller content creators from legal liabilities so that companies like Disney or Nintendo have far less tools to work with to bully smaller content creators. The copyright system in general is OP and needs to be nerfed because it's clear that it isn't really working for anyone except for the few that have money and power in the first place.
