Saudi Arabia is currently negotiating with the White House on working out a plan to normalize relations with Israel. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is also involved behind the scenes with this. Washington will be prodding Netanyahu on how much he is willing to make compromises on the Palestinian issue to normalize relations with Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia offered a peace plan back in 2002 that offered full normalization of relations with Israel and the Arab World if Israel would accept a two-state solution based on Israel’s 1967 borders. This was turned down by the Jewish state on the opinion that the Israeli state would be unable to defend itself appropriately based on the 1967 borders.
