Onionfarms Drama Plugins that will be added and other changes

I know there has been a lot of contention on the proposed blocking plugin. Staff gave me their feedback on the proposed plugin. What he said in essence was that the problems we have here such as making abusive sock accounts would worsen. There are users such as @The Gays From LA who have spoken in favor of it while there are posters such as @Gargamel who have spoken against it. I have looked at this from all sides but I also have to consider what is in the best interests of forum growth.

1. The Blocking Plugin will proceed forward but for the time being it will be disabled. The plugin when enabled will not be global. It will be on an individual category/forum basis.

2. There will be a 2nd blocking plugin that will enable users to block categories/forums they don't want to see.

3. There has been a lot of contention over certain words (mainly the word "nigger") being censored. The censoring tool as you probably already know is in the moderator toolbox and it is global. I am looking into the possibility of modifying this so it can be used on a forum by forum basis. In forums such as the Kiwifarms Super Category the censoring tool will not be used. In other forums where there is more of an expectation of access by the general public, it will be used.

4. Country and Public Events Category: The countries will be brought back under this category (depending on what I see is trending on Google Analytics). Joshua Odeyemi will be the local mod and he will have full privileges. As I mentioned above, if you don't want to see this when you log-in, there will be an option to hide this. I want to move Onionfarms from being predominately a lolcow forum to more of a mainstream general public forum while keeping the lolcow section that gives Onionfarms its unique character.

There have been a number of threats (including crank phone calls) against Onionfarms by a mentally unbalanced poster (who I will not name) screaming this is a terrorist neo-nazi white supremacist website (which is what inspired me to go ahead with some of these changes). No Fungus-Toes : We are not going anywhere.

These people could simply fuck off, or curate their forum experience within hugbox DM chains. Instead, they've convinced you to make the whole site a hugbox for them. These 10% of active users are largely the same ones who rejected me and my site, funnily enough.
