After being told, "If they're humans, we have buses to go get them; if they're dogs, it is what it is," Lisa Parsons literally ran into action to help rescue 18 dogs from a raging wildfire near Halifax.

When Pampered Paws Inn dog trainer, Lisa Parsons, was told she couldn’t return to her doggy daycare to evacuate 18 dogs, she took matters into her own hands.

With cuts on her legs to prove it, she ran around a road block through thick bushes to get to the Pampered Paws Inn. There, she was able to negotiate the escorted evacuation of the dogs with the wildfire threat looming.

She shares her incredible story exclusively to The Weather Network in the video above.

Currently, there are two major wildfires going on in Nova Scotia. One is in Tantallon (in HRM) and many people had to be evacuated and the last update is that there were dozens of structure fires and at least 4 pets dead. No humans currently known injured or dead. The Tantallon fire is estimated to be about 788 hectares so far and the other major wildfire in Shelburne (near Yarmouth) county is around 6000 hectares but mostly forest not structures.
Climate change is evident in Nova Scotia with consistent record summer temperatures, increasingly mild winters and more than one wildfire burning in a province that does not get many wildfires bc it is normally wet and humid.
So what do you guys think? Is this woman a hero or a fool? She saved 18 dogs which is amazing but at the same time, if she had been stuck in a life threatening situation, firefighters would have had to risk their lives to try to save her. It's an ethical quandary.

She's a hero. We can speculate ex post about what might have gone wrong here, but at the end of the day, she managed to save 18 dogs.
I totally agree. People are arguing about it on NS Facebook. The RCMP are pieces of shit to force people to leave their pets home. They wouldn't even let people get their horses to a safe stable and apparently 5 were running free even on highways and one is seriously injured.

I’m glad you got the dogs out I wonder how big the fire has spread there’s one place in Nova Scotia that I’m interested in that’s Oak Island granted I don’t think the fire is going to skip over the water to get to that area
Oak Island is pretty remote so it should be good, fortunately. One of the worst burning places is Pockwock which is populated mostly by descendants of Black people who fought for the British against America in the War of 1812. I believe there's still going to be a lot of dead animals by the end of this but people are working hard to try to save them.
