He is changing the way he manages the website to increase his income and his own enjoyment of the website. Expanding his user base to include international groups who need a place to post doxes and the upcoming cohorts of chronically online males may increase his income. It is his business and it has been his path to property ownership, investments, and a large monthly income. There is no Plan B for him. He will continue to manage his business which grew out of his hobby of being an internet forum user. He is enabling himself to do as a job what he has done since he was eight years old, sequester himself inside and focus on computers.
I made a post explaining that it is much more likely that Moon is comfortably wealthy than struggling to pay rent, as some of his enemies choose to believe. It is a common tactic for Kiwifarms users to make explicit posts projecting the worst onto individuals they hate, and some of the exiled Kiwifarms users here are no different. One exiled Trekkie Kiwifarms user on this forum was insulted by my suggestion that Moon has likely collected millions of dollars' worth of cryptocurrency over the life of the forum. He went on an erotic tirade about Moon's sexual proclivities so detailed that it seems he is sexually drawn to this image of Moon. He may or may not be correct about Moon's sexual proclivities. It doesn't change the fact that Moon has kept the forum running and secured himself significant assets and a large monthly income. This type of misdirected hatred protects Moon's image as a poor and persecuted rebel fighting for free speech in the United States of America, while ignoring his veiled financial success. No one thinks Moon is normal, but that doesn't mean he's poor.
User Alice Lastname found a cryptocurrency wallet used by Moon that was worth over 400,000 dollars at one point. Alice Lastname also found that he had transferred ten of thousands of dollars to Shuffle from this wallet. Many of his benefactors do not care if he has a large income or makes money crying poor. Many of them trust him entirely or lack the suspicion needed to scrutinize his activities. Some of the users of this forum believe that the Shuffle transfers are proof of a gambling addiction. It's more likely that Moon decided to launder some of it through Shuffle. This wallet and his transfers to Shuffle from it provide evidence that he has made millions in cryptocurrency and is probably laundering it. Ethereum has been a popular coin but there are many other popular coins he has benefited from. The coins seen in that wallet represent only a fraction of the cryptocurrency he has received. Moon could have provided significant benefactors with wallet addresses unique to each of them. It is not a large jump to realize that Moon is a cryptocurrency millionaire from the history of this wallet, as it accounts for only a fraction of the Ethereum he received. His love of Monero is easy to understand, and he requested it above other currencies. There are many other popular coins he would have received in large amounts. Depending on how well he's timed selling cryptocurrency and investing the cash he received from it, he could be very wealthy. Not to mention, many of his supporters send him other gifts and cash. He has received a lot of cash.
During the most recent Kiwifarms DDoS attack, and in its aftermath, Moon was not crying about money. His recent LFJ-inspired fundraiser was already a huge success. He and his lawyer friends have cash available and it was all earned from Moon crying about being poor and persecuted for a week or so. His business is earning sufficiently, someone even taught him how to set up recurring payments and he reached his goal of $12,000 per month. With that periodic income from his business, significant credit would soon be available to him. His crying related to the DDoS attack was about the idea that no one wanted to take his money and provide him with internet security. His crying worked again, someone showed him the way, and now he's proudly talking about spending his money on DDoS protection. Moon is more than happy to spend money to make money. He was losing money from the downtime, and the scale of DDoS attack may have scared Moon enough that he worried about significant damage to his business.
With Kiwifarms protected by real security professionals, a regular income, and troves of cryptocurrency and cash, Moon is free to lord over his forum and expand his wealth and personal life. Increasing his business expenses to protect his income and reduce his janitorial responsibilities is a win for the already wealthy Moon. As the political pendulum swings back towards progress in the next few years, Moon stands to grow his forum substantially as discontent swells in his right wing audience. Despite his dramatic displays of weakness and pleas for financial aid against the tyrannical enemies he faces, Moon is looking towards the long term and enjoying his political soapbox, financial success and soon the security of professional DDoS protection.
Moon's recent posts suggest that he has already bought a home. With his cryptocurrency wealth it couldn't have been much trouble, except for using taxed income. Not everything can be bought with gift cards paid for by cryptocurrency. He may be looking to upgrade or acquire additional land with his new monthly income and the credit it will secure. He is keeping guns with him and is probably building the technological infrastructure for Kiwifarms in his home dwelling, or at a commercial property nearby. Moon would almost certainly prefer to have the business where he lives as he is nervous about being seen outside undisguised and likes to stay inside. I would not readily believe his lawyer saying he is a resident of Clay County, but it could be true or a legal technicality.
