This is an interesting admission from Josh. He doesn't want anyone to know who he's banning and when and why. He wants you to be left in a permanent state of fog of war, where you don't know what's happening around you. Sometimes called "shadowbanning." Probably so people can't see him abusing his power. Or so people can't hold him accountable by cross-referencing other users. "You didn't ban X for doing Y but you banned Z for something so minor compared to X." Also, he won't just do the permanent red strikethrough as a general rule for all people. Because he doesn't like when people fight back. And the red strikethrough gives you feedback and closure that you were 100% banned by Josh. He wants banned users to just go quietly into the night with no pushback. What a piece of shit. It's just more evidence that this guy need to be stripped of all power. Any platform he controls, you shouldn't use it unless you have to.

It needs to be noted that red strikethroughs used to be on by default and he's just making up post-hoc reasons why he won't show banned users anymore. He changed this several years ago without much explanation. I think the excuse back then was about some kind of privacy setting.

I do not remember that, or maybe because nobody got banned on old pre-2020 Kiwi Farms because mods and jannies and Null would just fuck with people they hated until they left the site rather than run things like their gay little hugbox. At one point though, the red strikethrough was only given to pedophiles like Jason Close (after he used the site for years).

thats not true. I repeatedly killed null in ss13 and he banned me on site because everyone kept making fun of him for whining. that was literally in 2019. his ban reason was that he was sick of me

So then the only reason Josh uses the red strikethrough is to virtue signal. When Rekieta exposed Jason Close as being an active pedo user of Kiwi Farms that was trying to dig into his life and get the bodycam footage of his house and kids, this humiliated Josh. Because Kiwis looked like pedos trying to get after kids. So Josh gave Jason Close the red strikethrough, but only as a purely performative thing. Not that he actually cared. He just didn't want to look bad, even though he wanted the exact same thing as Jason Close (to get that body cam footage of Rekieta's house and kids).

Also, Josh said he prefers to just nuke people's entire accounts. He likes this for a couple reasons. For one, when people are about to get banned, they start to shit-talk him and call him a pedo faggot. He doesn't want to leave a record of that so he nukes their whole account to memory-hole them. And two, the main reason he nukes the whole account instead of leaving a record of their posts, is because if he doesn't clean it up, KF'ers will see that Kiwi Farms is actually a graveyard of dead banned accounts.

It's not a thriving healthy community. If you were to turn the banned accounts' history back on, you wouldn't be able to read any thread without bumping into a banned account on every page. People would quickly realize Josh the butthurt sperg has banned thousands of people. And his fat ass squatting on the Farms is the reason why the site doesn't grow. So he has to hide the fact that he has hundreds and hundreds of people, if not thousands.
