maybe i'm hallucinating but i swear we got a leak years ago and it was what everyone expected.
That man is such a weirdo I wonder what porn he looks up to say trash like this?
to be fair, he's just saying the "standard response" about why conservatives don't make good art. the more honest answer has a lot more to do with the overton window and a combo of naturally being pushed out and the collaborative nature of the medium and the requirement to be funded. a huge fucking reason the US is so dominant in terms of the film and tv industry is because we have a fuck load of people willing to throw money away "to support the cause" and its why some lefty can make a film about an anti-hero gay tranny lover called Dog Day Afternoon literally a year after the US decided gays don't need to be shoved in mental hospitals the rest of their lives. Whereas you can't get someone right wing to even bail out Kyle Rittenhouse
just in terms of charity, right wingers proudly are anti-art and are fine just enjoying the old shit, which makes sense because thats sort of what conservatism is, but with leftists because they're always trying something new you end up requiring a never ending supply of art.
your average right winger openly has some time period they want to go back to and that means no reason to spend money on new slop.
mind you as we're seeing with the dissident right, smaller groups are starting to realize the error of funding and we have enough people on the right trying to make art and being semi-subsidized for doing it, people like emily youcis and others at least getting their AI credits paid for by someone else, then there are podcasts where moderates have been able to make a fuck load of money and end up stopping the massive woke culture we had even 5 years ago. there's a reason people are trying to memory hole how leftists treated shane gillis in 2019 and 2020.
Beyond all of that, you can easily make arguments about right wingers and independent music artists, Ariel Pink was proudly on Bill Oreilly in like 2012 while also being a huge deal in his subgenre, plenty of smaller creators are right wing coded and have popular fanbases, they could easily fill smaller venues just as well as a lot of the "popular" artists we're seeing be talked about as the "next greats"
AI is really taking the power away from entertainment institutions and hyper fragmentation of entertainment means you could very easily see professional right wing musicians and artists in a way you didn't see a decade ago. look at podcasts, its obvious that there is need that could be filled. people could just as easily say "there are no right wing artists because they suck" but people in the last decade have a lot of examples that prove thats not true anymore.
