The whole point of OF is to have a space to voice your disagreements with KF, because KF allows no dissent. We shouldn’t be concerned with “looking good” to these people because the site inherently looks bad to them. This is the site where we allow what KF doesn’t, there’s no way to “look good” outside of becoming them, and then what’s the point?

Yeah but we also don't want to be an echo chamber like their threads become. Even though we sorta already are. Acting like a circle jerk makes us look dumb and no different from the outside looking in, even if you don't like kiwifarms is my point.

Gore-San’s view is that he was obviously talking about this specific thing, mine is that I’ve seen enough Kiwifarms shit to believe that you can’t assume the most logical position of them, Obscenity’s is similar afaik, this site dictates that neither is wrong and neither is right until someone takes the time to go in the thread and read the context.

Or, you know, ask the user what he meant. Chemo has an account there but I don't think he cares enough about this to bother asking what is obvious to us.

People can post whatever issue they have with KF here and we’re free to go “That’s fair” and “That’s not fair”, but that’s all we’re free to do here.

We clearly have our problems, and a big one is the fact that we can’t have a disagreement without self-destructing because each side feels some sort of righteous indignation.

I wouldn't call this self destructing, this is fairly tame compared so some arguments. At least it was kinda on topic in regards to a kf post. As for righteous indignation? I just think defending walking around naked in public a stupid hill to die on and conflating it with non issues to muddy the water is a cope.

I’m not a mod so I can’t dictate shit, so rather I’ll humbly (VERY humbly) request you two drop it as I should too.

There really is much left to say about it.

I agree we should have dialogue where we disagree, but 90% of the time when it happens, it’s a whole ordeal. I think we’re definitely better than KF when it comes to echo chambers, but worse when it comes to getting along and respecting each other. It’s like we’re all constantly on edge over… something.

I’d be careful with that, I’m not sure it’s too good of an idea for us to just turn into the refuge for banned Kiwifarms members, that’s how we got stuck with people like Bittersweet and that one guy who fucked his dog. Obviously we should be welcoming, but I don’t think our focus should be cozying up to people who were probably banned for a good reason.

Furthermore, the fact that they were banned tends to make them pretty bitter and unreasonable.

For a good few weeks the featured on KF has been nothing but nothing burgers, I’m somewhat split on today’s feautres

On one hand I don’t agree with shock collars, on the other, when did KF start caring about dogs? They have a whole thread where people confess they enjoy watching videos of pitbulls being brutally murdered, when an article came out of someone fucking their dog to death, a user legit said “I don’t care if it’s a pitbull, zoophilia is wrong” as if the breed matters.

I just don’t think you can be pro animal abuse for one breed and anti for another.

Weird flex to rag on your own site while defending KF in a thread dedicated to slagging of KF.
Onionfarms doesn't bilk it's users for money to fix issues the site owner created through retardation or starting slapfights.

Aside from Onionfarms occasionally going down for a day or two, honestly I've had a pretty good experience here.

Everything is stable and well optimized and meanwhile Kiwi Farms is a buggy mess that barely fucking works half the time.

Even on a potato computer, Onionfarms is very usable and stable.

I think the sites ok, I’m satisfied with it. I’d change the default theme though cause it’s pretty ugly. If anything, I’d rather deal with a guy like Ken and a shit site than a sperg like Josh and a polished site personally.
