I think this is a very European attitude towards lolicon and similar material. I've noticed this with Vingle other users from the old world; they have this genuine belief that, as long as no one gets harmed, it's okay.

If you want to expand past video games... xena warrior princess first episode came out a year before the first tomb raider game give or take. Xena was September 4, 1995 and tomb raider was October 24, 1996. That a pretty princess who is also a warrior that does the rescuing.
